Transform your old assignments for students to creatively express their reading, writing, listening, and speaking proficiency skills. Differentiate and personalize student-created podcasts, videos, webpages, and books. Sites include Adobe Express, Podcast, Padlet, Book Creator, Seesaw, and Canva. Participants interact with students’ creations, customizable templates, and lists of ideas per skill.
Outline
I. Opening: Brief introduction of self and my why II. Objective of session: Repurpose an old assignment from any of the reading, writing, speaking, listening activities, into a website, flyer, speaking book, video, podcast. a. Provide link for Padlet for participants to share ideas and collaborate throughout b. Share list of strategies to implement in world languages classroom III. Share sites that I use in my Spanish classes a. Give brief synopsis of each and that I will provide samples IV. Samples of what differentiating instruction using interactive technology can look like a. Share one link at-a-time of student generated differentiated products b. Solicit ideas to be placed in the Padlet (It will be shared with participants at the end) V. Explain 7 Principles of Personalized Learning a. Share various students’ tech creations b. Explain how students personalized by choice and voice, choice in demonstrating learning, others c. Share template link to create a book on Book Creator. d. Share how to make a podcast from an old assignment, using Adobe Podcast or Padlet. e. Demonstrate/walk through process how to create a book in chunks f. Share planning template chunks VI. Summarize ideas and sites. VII. Closing
