Information

United by science, design, and passion, senior students overcame scheduling challenges to create five mangrove simulation models and produce ten documentaries showcasing their process. Utilizing effective teaching techniques, they integrated geography and digital art, fostering meaningful collaborative learning. This session will highlight the value of interdisciplinary collaboration in education.
Outline
1. Welcome and Icebreaker: Content: Brief welcome and introduction to the session's goals. Engagement: Quick icebreaker where participants share a memorable hands-on learning experience. Process: Use a show of hands or a quick chat to get everyone involved. 2. Discovering Mangroves and Group Discussion: Content: Introduction to mangrove ecosystems and their importance. Engagement: Share inspiring stories of student projects. Process: Break into small groups to brainstorm how they might incorporate similar projects in their classrooms. 3. Hands-On Activity: Model Creation: Content: Guide participants to create simple mangrove simulation models. Engagement: Encourage creativity and collaboration. Process: Participants share their models with the group, discussing ideas and feedback. 4. Reflection and Wrap-Up: Content: Summarize key takeaways and emphasize ethical digital practices. Engagement: Encourage participants to reflect on their learning. Process: Use an exit ticket for participants to jot down one actionable step they’ll take after the session.
