App Smashingly Good Tips and Tricks for a Great Year

This presentation is all about giving educators fresh ideas and tools to boost student engagement and make teaching easier for the new school year. Participants will learn how to use AI image generators like Canva and Adobe Image Creator to create personalized "All About Me" images. This fun approach helps build a sense of community in the classroom, making student introductions more engaging. Plus, attendees will discover how to create AI-generated animated videos that can serve as exciting introductions for both teachers and students, adding that extra touch to the back-to-school experience. We'll also look at how AI tools like MagicSchoolAI can take some of the routine tasks off teachers' plates. By automating administrative work and providing quick access to resources, educators can spend more time focusing on teaching and connecting with students. We’ll highlight engagement strategies through gamified learning platforms like Kahoot, Quizizz, and Gimkit, which are all about making learning fun and motivating students to participate. Participants will get to take part in a creative activity called Goose Chase, which gets students moving and thinking critically while they work together in a treasure hunt-style game that reinforces what they're learning. Lastly, we’ll talk about the importance of professional networking. Educators will find out how to connect with others who share their interests on platforms like X, particularly in groups like Eduguardians. These connections can offer ongoing support, resources, and chances to collaborate throughout the school year. The presentation will be organized into sections for each topic. I’ll make sure to allocate time wisely so that there’s plenty of room for both information and instruction but also interactive participation. Throughout the session, I'll allow teachers to see and try the tools as time allows and by the end, participants will feel equipped with a range of tools and strategies to kick off a successful and enjoyable school year.
