Information

The purpose of this hands-on model classroom is to immerse educators in an inquiry-based STEM learning experience using programmable drones and AI-enhanced coding tools. Participants will engage in a real-world problem-solving challenge, simulating how AI-driven programming enhances student engagement, critical thinking, and computational skills in STEM education.

By modeling a classroom experience, educators will step into the role of students, gaining firsthand experience in how AI tools and drone coding can:

Foster computational thinking and problem-solving through hands-on programming.
Develop data analysis skills by leveraging AI-driven feedback and flight optimization tools.
Increase STEM engagement and career awareness, connecting AI and drones to real-world applications.
Support inquiry-based and project-based learning (PBL) methodologies to enhance student curiosity and collaboration.
Outline
This hands-on model classroom session immerses educators in AI-assisted drone programming and inquiry-based learning, allowing them to experience STEM instruction from a student’s perspective. Participants will engage in a real-world coding challenge, using AI-powered tools to program drones, analyze flight data, and optimize performance, enhancing critical thinking, and computational skills. The session begins with a real-world discussion on AI and drone applications, followed by a hands-on coding challenge where teams use block coding to complete missions such as search-and-rescue simulations or environmental monitoring. Participants will analyze AI-driven flight telemetry, refine code based on AI feedback, and explore how AI enhances data-driven decision-making. Educators will leave with lesson plans, implementation strategies, and rubrics, equipping them to integrate AI-driven STEM learning into their classrooms. This interactive approach has been proven to increase engagement, and STEM career interest among students.
