Artificial intelligence can be both a powerful and scary tool. Learn strategies to effectively utilize AI to design meaningful workshops, staff meetings, and other adult learning experiences. We will combine a professional learning design cycle with AI tools to craft engagements that are purposeful and personalized.

Outline

Introduction (10 minutes) - Welcome and introductions - Inclusion activity - Define AI and its potential applications in adult learning - Discuss the potential benefits of using AI in adult learning Understanding AI Tools (15 minutes) - Overview of AI tools commonly used in adult learning - Demonstrate key features of selected AI tools (e.g., natural language processing, machine learning) Integrating AI into the Professional Learning Design Cycle (20 minutes) - Review the professional learning design cycle - Identify opportunities to incorporate AI into each stage of the cycle - Case study: Explore how AI was used to enhance a specific adult learning experience Creating Personalized AI-Enhanced Adult Learning Designs (10 minutes) - Small group activity: Participants work in teams to develop a personalized AI-enhanced adult learning design - Share and discuss the designs Conclusion (5 minutes) - Recap key takeaways - Encourage participants to explore additional AI tools and resources - Provide opportunities for ongoing support and collaboration Throughout the session, interactive activities, demonstrations, and discussions will be incorporated to engage participants and foster learning.
