This session will present research on the effectiveness of feedback and the conditions required for it to have maximum impact. Attendees will engage as students while three AI tools are demonstrated, showcasing how these tools can facilitate research-based feedback that enhances student learning and performance.

A. Research Base (10 minutes)
1. John Hattie's research on effect sizes (ISTE Standard 2.5c)
a. .70 effect size
b. Translates to almost two years of academic growth
2. Requirement for effective feedback
a. Timely

c. Focused on the learning process
B. Write-Feedback-Reflect protocol (15 minutes)
1. Curipod introduction
a. Demonstration on how to use Curipod to facilitate this protocol
b. Share classroom procedures for how to manage and follow up on the provided personalized feedback (ISTE Standard 2.5a)
C. Process Feedback (15 minutes)
1. Snorkl introduction
a. Interactive demonstration on how to use Snorkl to facilitate feedback on the learning process
b. Share classroom procedures for reflection on the personalized feedback (ISTE Standard 2.5a)
D. Targeted Feedback (15 minutes)
1. Brisk Chrome Extension
a. Interactive demonstration on how to use Brisk to provide targeted feedback
b. Discuss classroom procedures to allow for student to reflect and revise based on the provided feedback (ISTE Standard 1.1c)
