Information

This project fosters student entrepreneurship by developing a healthy food product and a related app. Integrating subjects like math, chemistry, technology, art, and English guides students to create a viable business, analyze financial feasibility, and present their product professionally, with profits supporting a social cause.
Outline
In this session, we will start with an explanation of project-based learning principles and their benefits, illustrated by examples of successful interdisciplinary projects. The presentation will feature slides that highlight key concepts, followed by small group discussions where participants will explore how project-based learning is applied in their own contexts. We will then provide a step-by-step guide for creating an interdisciplinary project, focusing on a healthy food product and a related app, integrating subjects such as math, chemistry, technology, art, and English. Participants will learn strategies for managing diverse teams, assigning roles, and fostering effective collaboration and communication. We will also review examples of rubrics and assessment tools to evaluate these projects incorporating coding/programming in their app development to engage and increase sales. Finally, we will discuss integrating social impact into projects and aligning financial goals with community contributions to create a meaningful and impactful learning experience.
