Content and Engagement: Introduction (10 minutes): Brief overview of immersive design and its benefits for students. The role of passion in driving student engagement and creativity. Introduce the workshop objectives and outline the day's activities. Engage the audience with a thought-provoking question or a brief interactive activity. Sparking Curiosity (20 minutes): Share inspiring examples of student-created immersive design projects. Discuss the importance of connecting projects to student passions. Facilitate a brainstorming activity where participants share their own ideas for immersive design projects. Encourage participants to think creatively and outside the box. Igniting Agency (20 minutes): Discuss the benefits of student-centered learning and autonomy. Share strategies for empowering students to take ownership of their projects. Facilitate a peer-to-peer discussion where participants share their experiences with student-centered learning. The Power of Prototyping (15 minutes): Explain the importance of prototyping in the design process. Demonstrate how to create effective prototypes using tools like Procreate and iPads. Encourage participants to create their own mini-prototypes in small groups. Leveraging Technology (15 minutes): Discuss the benefits of using Samsung Freestyle projectors to create immersive environments. Demonstrate how to set up and use projectors effectively. Encourage participants to experiment with different projector setups. Student Showcase (10 minutes): Present examples of student-created immersive design projects, including F1 simulators, travel agencies, storytelling for a cause, reading experiences, learning experiences, and fitness simulators. Discuss the challenges and successes faced by students. The Role of Journals (10 minutes): Explain the importance of journaling in the design process. Provide tips for guiding students through the journaling process. Encourage participants to reflect on their own experiences with journaling. Time Management: The time allocated for each section is flexible and can be adjusted based on the pace of the workshop and the engagement of the participants. Process: Peer-to-peer interaction: Encourage participants to share their experiences and perspectives with each other. Device-based activities: Use digital tools and platforms to facilitate interactive activities and demonstrations. Hands-on experiences: Provide opportunities for participants to create their own mini-prototypes and experiment with different techniques.
