Outline
The session begins with a 5-minute Welcome, introducing participants to Girls Who Code’s mission and setting the stage for the learning experience. Next, during the 10-minute Sisterhood Activity, educators will reflect on their own perceptions and use of AI. This activity will also introduce Girls Who Code’s AI in My Hands approach, grounding participants in a student-centered framework that emphasizes agency, critical thinking, and student voice with AI. The AI Activity Immersion (30 minutes) invites educators to step into the role of students and preview a lesson from Girls Who Code’s AI Literacy Unit for young learners. Participants will engage with the material from a student perspective, exploring how the lesson fosters curiosity, reflection, and meaningful interaction with AI concepts. Following the activity, participants will engage in a 10-minute Implementation Reflection, where they will consider how to bring AI learning experiences into their own settings. The session concludes with a 5-minute Wrap-Up, where participants will learn how to access free Girls Who Code AI Literacy resources and explore ways to stay connected with the Girls Who Code educator community for ongoing support and collaboration.
